Compose Music in VPA Labs

Students create eclectic and diverse forms of sonic expression by taking a course – or a series of courses – in VPA's music composition lab! Students may even choose “Music Composition and Technology” as a Minor. Interested in learning more? Check out some of our students' original compositions below.

Take a Music Lesson

WSU students enjoy one-hour-per-week music lessons for course credit with professors who have studied, performed, and toured locally, nationally, and internationally…with many continuing to perform at live shows and festivals! Lessons are available in guitar, piano, brass, strings, voice, winds or percussion, with performance opportunities on and off campus! Practice space is available.

VPA offers rigorous applied lessons and music theory instruction geared toward performance, with ensemble opportunities available in African Drumming, Brass, Guitar, Jazz, Strings, Piano, Wind, and new in Fall 2023 - The Good Time Vocal Band with Professor Steve Gagliastro - all for course credit!
