Mission: The purpose of this organization is to create a safe space that allows Muslim students to embrace their identity and come together to support each other and for other student body to learn about the Muslim community. Our goals include promoting unity and conducting social, cultural, and religious activities in order to educate others.

Why should students get involved with your organization?
Students should get involved with MSA to learn a little bit about their Muslim peers on campus. Our programs and events are educational and fun, mainly focused on establishing a sense of unity within our members.

What types of events and/or programs do you do throughout the year?
In the past we have held calligraphy/paint nights, jeopardy games, and a henna night fundraiser with a bake sale aspect. During Ramadan, which is the Islamic holy month of fasting, we held an Iftaar on campus open to all students, which is a dinner during which Muslims break their fasts. In the upcoming semester, we hope to participate in regular volunteering around the local community.

What has been one of the biggest successes of this organization?
Aside from starting the club and recruiting members, one of our most successful events was our Henna Night Fundraiser, which was our first fundraiser as a club. Many of our members participated in preparing for and setting up the event, and we also had many others show up to get their henna done and buy some baked goods. Some students said they had specifically marked the day in their calendar for this event, which was amazing to hear.

What do you think your organization brings to the students at Worcester State?
Our platform is mainly based on providing a sense of community for Muslim students at WSU and for other students who want to learn about Islam or connect with people of different backgrounds. We advocate for the Muslim body on campus and arrange for prayer rooms. We also hold fun team-building activities and participate in community service.

How can interested students join your organization?
Anyone interested in joining our organization can email us or DM us on Instagram. They are welcome to reach out to any of the board members as well.

How can the campus community learn more about your programs and events?
To learn more about our programs and events, look out for flyers around campus, follow our Instagram page, and/or ask to join our email list.

Club Name: WSU Christian Fellowship
Mission: To introduce students to the Christian faith, encourage Christians to grow in their faith, create a place of fellowship, encouragement, and fun, and to provide opportunities to serve the local and global community.

Why should students get involved with your organization?
Our organization provides a great place to meet new people, explore faith, and be encouraged and supported by others. We also have great opportunities to attend events and go on mission trips and retreats.

What types of events and/or programs do you do throughout the year?
We usually have some volunteer project events, where people come and help us do a project to help those in need. We also have a monthly get-together event with other Worcester college fellowships/groups, where we hear from a speaker and worship together. We also have retreats and trips that are offered to students who want to attend.

What has been one of the biggest successes of this organization?
One of the biggest successes of this organization is the way we鈥檝e been able to give back, not only to the campus, but the local community as well. Through our weekly meetings, events, and just the relationships we鈥檝e built on campus, that is one thing we are really proud of and excited to continue.聽

What do you think your organization brings to the students at Worcester State?
We think that we bring a place of support, joy, and encouragement to the students of WSU. A place that not only provides the opportunity to explore something greater than themselves, but also the opportunity to be a part of something greater.

Mission: Chabad on Campus at 91传媒 belongs to the international Chabad on Campus program that supports the vibrancy and growth of Jewish student life on campus. Chabad on Campus at 91传媒, affiliated with Chabad Lubavitch of Central Massachusetts, exists to serve and support the University鈥檚 Jewish and other interested students by providing religious, cultural, social, and educational programs.

Why should students get involved with your organization?
We are dedicated to serving and supporting Jewish and other interested students in any way they need. Through our Rabbi Mendel Fogelman and Rebbetzin Chana Fogelman, we are able to provide students with access to kosher food, Shabbat and holiday services, mezuzahs, and anything else they need.聽 Joining WSU Chabad means joining the international Chabad on Campus family that will support you during college and after graduation no matter where you go in the world.

What types of events and/or programs do you do throughout the year?
We provide lots of fun events throughout the year on top of regular religious programs at Central Mass Chabad, located just five minutes from 91传媒. We are excited to be able to provide both exciting virtual opportunities, as well as socially distanced events like Shabbat dinners with the best kosher food in the area.

What has been one of the biggest successes of this organization?
Our biggest success has been and continues to be being able to fulfill the legacy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe by connecting Jewish students to their heritage.

What do you think your organization brings to the students at Worcester State?
Our organization provides a needed opportunity for Jewish students to connect to their heritage. It can be difficult to stay connected to your Judaism on college campuses. We are here to support Jewish students and provide them the support they need to be proud of their Judaism.

How can interested students join Chabad?
Interested students can join us by reaching out to us through email or social media, or attending a meeting or an event.
